“Watching T10 is like watching a circus” – Twitter reacts after Andre Russell said T10 League will make players leave the longer format

Cricket which is being played today is not the same as before. Back in those days, all the cricket boards gave the utmost priority to Test and ODI cricket, thus organizing more fixtures featuring Tests and ODIs.

As the years progressed, the ICC decided to launch the T20 format and since then, the dynamics of the game have changed altogether. Even the ones who haven’t been following the sport started to witness it only because of the T20 format.

The team gets to play 20 overs each and the trimmed format is not time-consuming either. As a result, the fans have been investing time to watch this format compared to the other two formats.

Fans turn up in numbers to enjoy the T20I format because it offers plenty of interesting and intriguing incidents. Moreover, the fans also get to go through a roller coaster ride of emotions.

T10 League will make players leave the longer format: Andre Russell

Amidst the success of the T20I format, the T10 format didn’t really become a hit among the fans in the cricket fraternity. It received decent reviews from cricket fans. Meanwhile, the West Indies international Andre Russell had his say on the longer format.

He said that the T10 league will make players leave the longer format. Although we cannot completely deny Russell’s statement, it remains to be seen whether or not the longer format will survive amidst the plenty of T20 leagues because the mindset of the fans started to change.

Andre Russell has played only one Test in his cricketing career. He has played 56 ODIs and 67 T20Is so far, scoring 1034 runs in One-Day Internationals including 4 fifties and 741 runs in Twenty20 Internationals, scoring 1 fifty.

On the other hand, Russell has played 98 games in the IPL wherein he scored 2035 runs at an average of 30.4 including 10 half-centuries. KKR have retained the services of Andre Russell ahead of the mini-auction.
