5 Indians who have won Man of the Series in U19 World Cup history

It is a big event to become the player of the tournament at the U19 World Cup. There are so many youngsters competing for the award and it takes an extra effort to get to the honour. Till now, five Indians have been honoured with this award. Here, we take a look at the list of five Indians who have won Man of the Series in U19 World Cup history.

1) Yuvraj Singh – 2000

Yuvraj Singh is one of the Indians who have won Man of the Series in U19 World Cup history. It was the 2000 U19 World Cup that attracted the fans towards the competition. From then, people started to follow the event. For his stunning show, Yuvi got this award.

2) Shikhar Dhawan – 2004

The 2004 batch of the U19 Indian squad was a special one. There were so many talented cricketers who came out from this bunch. Dhawan was one of them. He was very consistent as an opener and partnered with the likes of Robin Uthappa, Suresh Raina and Ambati Rayudu to help India do well.

3) Cheteshwar Pujara – 2006

Pujara is a part of this list of Indians who have won Man of the Series in U19 World Cup history. Not many remember that Pujara also had a great outing in the U19 World Cup. However, he hardly played any ODIs for the country. But, he became a legend in Tests.

4) Shubman Gill – 2018

It was after a long gap that an Indian won this award in 2018. It was a special player and Shubman Gill, along with Prithvi Shaw, were stars in that tournament. Gill is currently a part of the Indian setup and is regarded as the future of the side.

5) Yashasvi Jaiswal – 2020

Yashasvi Jaiswal is also one of the Indians who have won Man of the Series in U19 World Cup history. The current Indian senior cricketer is the latest Indian to receive this award. As expected, he was in top form and it was not a surprise that he was at the centre of attention.
