The mid-season transfer window is something no team has used in IPL before. However, in every edition, we see franchises push the ceiling and this time around, we could expect a mid-season transfer. It would keep the fans excited and would also improve the quality of the competition. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of two teams that must attempt a mid-season transfer signing in IPL 2024.
1) Gujarat Titans
With the ruling out of Mohammed Shami, Gujarat Titans are in deep trouble when it comes to their bowling attack, especially in the pace department. No other Indian is available in the free market that is close to the level of Shami.
However, there are teams such as RCB and Rajasthan Royals who might have an extra Indian pacer in the squad. The likes of Akash Deep, Vyshak V, Kuldeep Sen and Navdeep Saini might hardly play in the upcoming season because the team may not be able to afford them in the XI. Hence, GT can target one of these players, who would be very useful to the setup.
2) Lucknow Super Giants
LSG is one of the teams that must attempt a mid-season transfer signing in IPL 2024. With KL Rahul nursing an injury, LSG might have to prepare for the worst. Anyways, the No.3 role is somewhat weak, considering the likes of Deepak Hooda and Ayush Badoni might occupy this role.
LSG could look at some of the other teams which seem to have a lot of depth when it comes to the Indian middle order. For instance, the likes of Suyash Prabhudessai and Vishnu Vinod might not get a lot of chances. These players could do well when given an extra opportunity.
