Andre Russell Break This Unique Record In The History Of Indian Premier League

Andre Russell is the second eminent Caribbean player who got such notoriety after Christopher Henry Gayle in the Indian Premier League. Before going deep into his unique record Chronicle let’s take a quick recap of his journey. He made his debut in 2012 from the side of Delhi Daredevils, after staying there for 3-seasons, he then shifted to KKR in IPL 2015. Also, ”He is the lone guy who has taken over the record of hitting most sixes in a single season of Indian Premier League two times”. His original show was started when he has been in the team of Kolkata Knight Riders under Gautam Gambhir’s leadership. He has smacked many incredible knocks which nobody could ever think of even at the position of the lower middle order. Kolkata has been so lucky for the last couple of years to have him on their side.

In the IPL, he has played 87 matches and scored 1795 runs in it with a devastating strike rate of 179.3, which indicates his ruthless hitting. Andre Russell has recently pinched up the most unique record of sticking to the score of 49 in the IPL. In the last game against Sunrisers Hyderabad, he has achieved this feat, where he scored 49*(38) and took a 3-wicket haul in the victorious game for KKR.

Kolkata has stayed up to 6th position in the points table along with a ray of hope remaining for them to qualify in the play-offs. Intriguingly he has remained not out in all of his four 49-run knocks. He was closely followed by another Caribbean Great Chris Gayle who left out three times on the score of 49. Andre Russell is looking at his old form with his bat this season and KKR will have fingers crossed for his consistency with the blade for their remaining fixtures.
