2 teams that might win WPL 2024

Women’s Premier League will start on February 23rd in Bengaluru. This time around, the format is slightly different. Unlike last season when all teams played against each other twice, this time, there will be just one battle between the sides. Hence, it is a shorter tournament. The first season was a success, mainly because of the presence of teams such as Mumbai Indians and RCB, which had a Men’s Team. Now, the fans are getting used to the new teams and the players. Hence, the second season is likely to be successful, as well. Here, we take a look at the list of two teams that might win WPL 2024.

1) Mumbai Indians

Mumbai Indians had a dominant outing in the first edition. Out of the 10 games that they played in all, they just lost two encounters. It was an easy ride for them in the competition. The expectation is that they will repeat their show once more. They have their core intact and have also added some fine players in the mix in the recent auctions.

Harmanpreet Kaur will lead the side and she will form the main batter in the middle order. Some of the other talented Indian players in the team are Yastika Bhatia and Pooja Vastrakar. However, the overseas core is what puts MI ahead of the other sides. In Hayley Matthews and Nat Sciver-Brunt, there is a strong group of all-rounders. The likes of Issy Wong also add strength to the overseas contingent. Hence, it is looking bright for MI again.

2) UP Warriorz

UP Warriorz is one of the teams that might win WPL 2024. Led by Alyssa Healy, the UP Warriorz did well last season but could not reach the finals. However, they now have another chance.

In Grace Harris, Sophie Ecclestone, Tahlia McGrath, and Chamari Athapaththu, UP has a fantastic group of foreigners. This core will be backed by talented Indians such as Deepti Sharma and Rajeshwari Gayakwad.
