Two possible overseas combination that KKR may try after the arrival of Jason Roy

Jason Roy was being brought on as a replacement of Shakib Al Hasan for the latest edition of the IPL

As the Kolkata Knight Riders brought home their replacement in place of Shakib Al Hasan, the fans seemed pretty happy to welcome, England’s hard-hitting opener, Jason Roy into their ranks. The arrival of Jason Roy allows KKR to breathe better with new firepower and that too a yard better in terms of their batting prowess.

However, now that Jason Roy has arrived, the most obvious question is how does KKR plan to line-up particularly with the glistening English opener in their ranks. Roy has already proven himself to be a rock-solid force in the international echelons and his presence in the franchise tournaments where the shortest format of the game has put him to the test and he has managed to roll out his phenomenal best. Here are two ways in which Kolkata may line up their foreigners after the arrival of Jason Roy.

#1 Jason Roy, David Wiese, Andre Russell, Lockie Ferguson

Ideally, Sunil Narine’s display on the opening fixture have been pretty questionable but then again with the kind of form that Andre Russell was in the midst of, he will definitely be a mainstay in the starting line-up following which the addition of David Wiese will make life a lot more easier for the Knights.

Jason Roy can get the move going early alongside Venkatesh Iyer who can be followed by the arrival of Narayan Jagadeesan and then Lockie Ferguson would be providing the final flourish to make life easier for the Knights. Tim Southee may be considered in place of Lockie but his form in Indian tracks have been questionable in the shortest format of the game.

#2 Jason Roy, Litton Das, Andre Russell, Lockie Ferguson

Jason Roy and Litton Das can be an absolutely destructive opening duo and if the opening pair stands out, then things can very well pan out for the Knights. With the kind of form that Litton Das has been in recent times and with the carnage that was being shown during the T20 World Cup, that makes him the perfect opening partner for Jason Roy.

Andre Russell would obviously be batting his heart out and with the kind of onslaught that he can offer down the line, that would be a bonus for the Knights while Lockie Ferguson is the pace express that KKR would be heavily banking upon.
