Balanced playing XI of cricketers who have captained the Hyderabad franchise in IPL history

Recently, Sunrisers Hyderabad appointed Pat Cummins as the skipper for IPL 2024. The franchise has had a lot of captaincy changes in the history of IPL. On that note, here, we take a look at the balanced playing XI of cricketers who have captained the Hyderabad franchise in IPL history.

Openers: David Warner and Adam Gilchrist (WK)

David Warner and Adam Gilchrist form a blockbuster opening combination for this balanced playing XI of cricketers who have captained the Hyderabad franchise in IPL history. Both these Australian cricketers won the IPL trophy during their stints. Warner now plays for Delhi Capitals.

Middle-Order: Shikhar Dhawan, Kumar Sangakkara, Kane Williamson and Manish Pandey

Shikhar Dhawan enjoyed a bright run with the bat at SRH. However, as a skipper, he could not do much. Kumar Sangakkara led the transition of the team between the Deccan Chargers and Sunrisers Hyderabad. Kane Williamson helped SRH do well as a skipper, leading them to a few playoff qualifications. Manish Pandey led SRH in one encounter.

All-Rounders: Aiden Markram, Cameron White and Darren Sammy

Aiden Markram and Cameron White are the batting all-rounders for this playing XI. The duo must also take up a chunk of the spin-bowling duties. Darren Sammy also led SRH while he was at the franchise. He is one of the best T20 skippers that the format has seen.

Bowlers: Pat Cummins and Bhuvneshwar Kumar

There are two good pacers in the balanced playing XI of cricketers who have captained the Hyderabad franchise in IPL history. Bhuvneshwar Kumar was always the option for SRH as the skipper whenever the main captain was not available. Having won the World Cup as a skipper, it would have been difficult for SRH to not give him the captaincy role. That said, it would be a different challenge for the Aussie to captain an IPL franchise.
