The desperately awaited RT-PCR test results of Rohit Sharma have come out to be positive and he is certainly ruled out for the fifth Test to be played against England. In his absence, Jasprit Bumrah is going to lead the Indian side for the very first time.
Rohit was tested positive for COVID on Sunday and was under isolation. Today, his results have come to be positive yet again, due to which he is unavailable, and the cricket enthusiasts have gone crazy hearing this news. Losing Rohit is a big blow for the team as both of our openers, KL Rahul and him, were the biggest contributors of the winning matches, are unavailable owing to health issues.
Cricket Twitter erupted today as they heard this news and suggested Kohli would lead the side for one last time and finish what he started.
Here are some top reactions on Rohit’s unavailability-
I think Virat Kohli should lead India in the fifth and final Birmingham Test match. After all, he captained the side in the first four Tests of the 2021 series in England!
The 2-1 lead also means that he deserves to do so.#ENGvIND #INDvENG— Mohandas Menon (@mohanstatsman) June 28, 2022
Jokes aside.
Get ready for a heartbreak. We're going to miss both Rohit and KL Rahul massively, in the final Test. I hope whoever opens, does atleast 70% of what Rahul and Ro did in the previous 4 tests.

What an opportunity for Jasprit Bumrah – he'll become the first Indian pacer in 35 years to captain India in Test cricket and that too at the most important time when the series is on the line. Hopefully he'll make this count! pic.twitter.com/h9MCqq2AzX

Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul together scored 34% of the total runs by India in the first 4 Tests.

Given that we still have 36 hours before the match starts, Rohit has obviously gotten to be COVID negative, the medical team is taking good of care of his. He will undergo one test tonight and another tomorrow morning, which will decide his availability for the rescheduled test
