‘He Is Highly Worthy Of Getting Into The Test Squad’-Former India Cricketer Wants Sarfaraz Khan In The India Set-Up

Sanjay Manjrekar, a former cricketer who is now a cricket commentator, believes that the promising batsman Sarfaraz Khan is very close to receiving a call-up from India as a result of his outstanding performances in the current Ranji Trophy season. During this season, Mumbai has advanced to the finals of the tournament thanks to Khan’s contributions.

Sarfaraz maintained his excellent form throughout this competition by accumulating more than 900 runs. The individual achievements of the 24-year-old have assured him that he is a strong candidate for inclusion in the Indian Test team.

He not only racks up enormous runs, but he does it in a highly timely manner and has an excellent success rate: Sanjay Manjrekar

“Because of the way he bats, you can’t help but question whether he has what it takes to be a successful player in the Test format. But the number of runs he’s scored in the previous two seasons – and he doesn’t get 103, 104, he gets huge scores and it comes extremely fast as well as at a fantastic strike rate,” Manjrekar was cited as saying by NDTV.

“There is absolutely no harm in getting Sarfaraz Khan in closer to the Indian Test squad,” he added. So even if you don’t have a spot readily available – you want to try out the incumbents first because Shreyas Iyer has grabbed the opportunity as a Test batter by getting runs,” he added.

According to the conclusion that Manjrekar reached, “He is highly worthy of getting near to a Test squad selection even if not in the playing XI.”

With a score of 134, Sarfaraz Khan was the only batsman from Mumbai to reach triple digits in the first innings of the championship match. After that, he backed it up with a courageous 48-ball 45 in the second innings.

In the meantime, there are also rumors going around that Sarfaraz may be in the plans for the Indian Test team when they play a series away against Bangladesh in November of this year.
