It was a night to remember for the young Harpreet Brar yesterday. Playing his first match of IPL 2021, Brar entered onto the field, blazing all guns. And then he exited the field after winning the game and Player of the Match award for the same.
Batting first, Punjab Kings posted 179 runs on the board following KL Rahul’s masterclass. Punjab’s skipper smashed 91 runs with seven fours and five sixes at a near strike rate of 159.
Along with Rahul, Chris Gayle played the helping hand at the top, and then the innings was finished on a good note by Harpreet Brar. Brar managed to get 25 runs in 17 balls with 1 four and two sixes.
The target might not seem big enough for RCB’s star-studded batting lineup. However, it was a golden day for Harpreet Brar as he then fired with the ball too. His bowling figures of 3 wickets for 19 runs turned the game in their favor. He scalped the three heavyweights of RCB known as Kohli, Maxwell, and AB.
How Harpreet Brar replied to a fan who called him water boy
Following his mind-blowing performance, an old Twitter reply of the cricketer went viral yesterday. A fan was trying to troll him by considering him as the water boy for the Punjab Side and the reference of a movie. However, Brar had given a befitting reply to this. With three wins in 7 games, Punjab currently has 6 points by their side and holds the 5th position on the points table. Their next fixture is against the Delhi Capitals side on 2nd May in Ahmedabad. The franchise would be hoping to continue the same form towards the second half of the league too.
