KKR skipper Shreyas Iyer has grimaced over an arguable question asked on the contention of CEO Venky Mysore’s involvement in picking the playing XI of the team. The Controversy was faced up when in the game against Mumbai Indians, Kolkata had stepped in with five sudden changes in the playing XI and Iyer stayed unstable when asked about it. After beating Sunrisers Hyderabad, KKR has quantified their chances for Play-offs by clenching 12 points, but even after winning the next game they have to rely on the results of other teams. In the previous match interview Shreyas Iyer has hinted at the engagement of Venky Mysore in the team meetings and selections.
Thus, while addressing the question about his unhindered statement in the post match chat-ups he said, “Also I want to clarify from the last interview. When I took the CEO’s name, I wanted to say that he’s there to console the players who’ve been sitting out. It’s tough for us as well when we select the team, The mindset we came up in this game, it was simply outstanding. All the boys did the right things, they played fearless cricket. It was really important to win the toss,” Iyer said of the performance.

Later, Iyer talked about the game performance of Kolkata Knight Riders against the losing side of SRH. He added, “Everything panned out really well. We were going over-by-over. The plan was to give Russell the strike as much as possible. We knew Washi had one over left, that was the over we were going to target. Sam was also giving that support. It worked out pretty well, hope it works out for us in the final game as well.”
