One of Rajasthan Royals’ star batsmen, Jos Buttler has confirmed his unavailability for the remainder of the tournament as he and his wife, Louise, are expecting a second child.
Buttler is currently a part of the English team that is engaged with India in a five-match bilateral affair. He also caught the attention of the Indian fans when sparks flew between Bumrah and him during the remarkable partnership between him and Shami.
Rajasthan Royals’ official Twitter handle read, “Jos Buttler will not be part of the remainder of #IPL2021, as he and Louise are expecting a second child soon.
We wish them well, and can’t wait for the newest member of the #RoyalsFamily.”

Jos Buttler’s recent performances
Buttler has so far been Rajasthan’s best bet in the last couple of years in otherwise mediocre showdowns. The ongoing season saw him bashing 254 runs from seven matches at a blistering strike rate of 153.01.
They won their last match before the fray came to an abrupt halt due to the raging pandemic.
They are currently in the fifth position with three victories from 7 matches and will be raring to get into the top three. However, with the absence of Buttler, things will not be as easy as one would expect it to.
He may not be available for the upcoming Ashes to that will begin on 8th December. England will have to start looking for alternatives, especially with Ben Stokes out of the line-up.
He is still to fire against India in the ongoing series. Despite trying to offer some stiff resistance alongside Moeen Ali in the recently concluded Lord’s Test, he couldn’t really battle till the end as it was his wicket that exposed Anderson to Siraj.
England will start the third Test match against India on 25th November at Headingley and will be desperate to balance out the scales.
