Australian opener Usman Khawaja played one of the finest knocks by visiting batters in the Indian conditions. The southpaw looked rock solid on the pitch and smashed 180 runs in the ongoing fourth Test against India in Ahmedabad.
Khawaja, who has been Australia’s best batter in the series, continued his staggering form and piled up a marathon knock that out his side in a dominating position. Opening the batting showed great grit and patience, playing retro Test innings.
The left-hander played 422 balls in his innings and scored 180 runs with the help of 21 balls. With his knock Australian batter who has played the most balls in Test innings in India. His staggering innings saw the side posting over 400 runs.
He along with Cameron Green (114) stitched an unbeaten 208 runs partnership, which is the highest of the series so far. Khawaja showed respect to the spinners by blocking the balls but he also punished the bad balls and made sure that he put his side in a comfortable position.
