Shubman Gill and KL Rahul likely to open for India in Tests if Rohit Sharma is unavailable

During the second ODI against Bangladesh national cricket team, Rohit Sharma sustained an injury to his thumb while he was taking the catch at the slip.

He dropped the catch but was injured in the follow-through and was also seen bleeding. He went to the hospital in Mirpur and then took a couple of injections and after which, he had stitches and arrived back at the stadium after some hours.

Despite his injury, Rohit Sharma still came out to bat for India at No.9 and scored a scintillating fifty for India off just 28 balls including 3 fours and 5 sixes and sadly, he ended up on the losing side.

Meanwhile, as per the news agency, PTI, Shubman Gill and KL Rahul are likely to open the innings for Team India in Tests if Rohit Sharma is unavailable for the upcoming two-match Test series against Bangladesh.

Rohit Sharma has already been ruled out of the third and final ODI against Bangladesh which will be played on Saturday. He remains doubtful to partake in the Test series.
