Sunrisers Hyderabad has been trying to figure out their perfect playing XI as they have made four changes in their game against Mumbai Indians. Virat Singh, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Khaleel Ahmed, and Abhishek Sharma made their way into the side. Jason Holder lost his place. Following the nature of the pitch, David Warner is constantly playing his cards in maintaining the perfect balance in the side.
This has worked reasonably well so far for the Orange Army as they succeeded in restricting Mumbai’s total to 150 runs. The bowling trio of Mujeeb, Khaleel, and Vijay Shankar played their role pretty well.
Based on the nature of Chennai’s turf, playing extra spinner in place of Jason Holder has faired well. It was a shocking move as Holder’s performance from the last game was highly impressive. He had bagged three crucial wickets against the RCB side.
Why Mujeeb ur Rahman replaced Jason Holder
SRH’s coach Tom Moody went on to reveal the reason behind their move. During an interview with the commentators, he stated:
“We have changed the combination for a start. We have tried to assess how the surface has played here over the last week. So we have gone with an additional spinner in Mujeeb playing his first game for the Sunrisers.”
So far, this decision has made the positive impact for Hyderabad as the spinner grabbed 2 crucial wickets of Quinton De Kock and Ishan Kishan. His bowling figures of 2 wickets for 29 runs at an economy of 7.25 were very impressive.
The side has got off to a good start so far as they are at 55 runs for the loss of zero wickets after the end of the 5th over with Jonny Bairstow blazing guns all over the park. However, the run chase might not be that easy as the likes of Bumrah and Boult can turn the game at any moment like the way they did in their previous battle against the Kolkata Knight Riders.
