“Test cricket is back”, Twitter reacts as Virat Kohli clicks a selfie with Cheteshwar Pujara, Umesh Yadav on the way to Bangladesh

Virat Kohli was last seen donning the Indian cricket team’s outfit during the ICC Men’s Twenty20 World Cup 2022 in Australia. The right-handed batter who recently turned 34 enjoyed scoring runs in the showpiece event.

He has been consistent throughout the tournament, scoring as many as 296 runs to his name. Moreover, he scored four half-centuries in the recently-concluded competition in Australia.

It is also worth mentioning here that he finished the tournament as the leading run-scorer. In the process, he also became the leading run-getter in the history of the T20 World Cup.

On top of that, he has scored 14 fifties in the T20 World Cup, more than any other batter in the history of the showpiece event. Meanwhile, he was recently rested for India’s tour of New Zealand (3 T20Is, 3 ODIs).

Apart from Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma was also rested for the tour. Hardik Pandya led the team for the T20I series whereas Shikhar Dhawan led the team for the ODI series. India won the T20I series by 1-0 but lost the ODI series by 1-0.

Meanwhile, Indian cricket players are gearing up for the upcoming tour of Bangladesh. Virat Kohli was seen clicking a candid selfie with Cheteshwar Pujara and Umesh Yadav on the flight on the way to Bangladesh.

The picture featuring three cricketers went viral on the internet. India will play three ODIs and two Tests during the tour. The tour begins with the ODI series, with the first game slated to be played on December 4.

The ODI series opener will be held at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium. Meanwhile, Kohli will be looking forward to continuing his good form with the bat. He has amassed 12,344 runs in One-Day Internationals, blasting 43 centuries and 64 half-centuries to his name, at an average of 57.7
