During his tenure, he made India the no.1 in ODIs and T20Is and led them to the Final of the Champions Trophy in 2017 and World Cup Semi-final in 2019.
Recently in the RCB podcast, he opened up about his captaincy. In a very cheeky way he took a dig at the critics of his captaincy, he said: “We reached in Final of CT 2017, Semi in 2019 WC, Final in WTC and 5 Test Maces in a row but I was considered as a failed captain (smiles).”
