Sanju Samson reacts to denying single to Chris Morris vs. PBKS

Chris Morris has taken the whole world with a shock following the way he batted for the team of Sanju Samson yesterday night.

His unexpected innings of 36 runs from 18 balls at a strike rate of 200 took his side over the victory line against the Delhi Capitals. He showcased his ability to smash boundaries around the park as his innings comprised four sixes that, too, at the crucial phase of the match.

Rajasthan Royals‘ decision of buying him for a whopping amount of 16.25 crore has been slowly rewarding now following his all-around performance. The side currently holds 2 points and is at 5th position on the points table.

The side could have managed to make 4 points, but they didn’t succeed as their first game resulted in a loss. Sanju Samson’s decision of not running the single with Chris Morris at the other end in the last over might have cost the game. Some fans after yesterday’s game are considering it as Samson’s error as he should have kept the faith in Morris and given him the strike.

Sanju Samson has no regrets over his decision

However, the young captain has finally opened up on this. He stated in the post-match interview that, “If I play that match again 100 times, I would not take the single.”

Chris Morris has also opened up on this incident after his heroics from the previous game. He revealed his feelings and stated that “I was gonna run back no matter what because Sanju was hitting it so sweetly. People underestimate how fast I run. Sanju was hitting it like a dream that night. I wouldn’t have been too upset if he had hit the last ball for a six”.

The side has found some excellent balance in their playing 11 despite their main man, Ben Stokes, unavailable for the tournament due to injury. They would be focusing on maintaining the momentum as their next fixture is against Chennai Super Kings on 19th April 2021 at Mumbai.
