“Ashwin is a Legend in Test cricket” – Twitter reacts after Ravichandran Ashwin said he doesn’t like to go down without a fight

India’s veteran off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has been an important team player, especially in the longest format of the game. The experienced campaigner’s contribution to the Indian cricket team in Test cricket has never been in doubt.

Notably, he has scored over 3000 runs in Test cricket, as he achieved the milestone during the second Test match against the Bangladesh cricket team in Dhaka recently. Besides that, he has also been effective with the ball as he took six wickets in the second Test.

Ravi Ashwin scored a match-winning knock of 42 off 62 balls where he slammed as many as four boundaries and a six in the run-chase of the second Test in Dhaka.

When he came out to bat, there was unreal pressure on him. However, he held his nerves and stitched a 71-run partnership for the eighth wicket alongside Shreyas Iyer and guided Team India to a memorable win as India keep their WTC final hopes alive.

Ravi Ashwin also scored his 13th fifty in the first Test against Bangladesh in Chattogram. Overall, Ravi Ashwin had a pretty decent outing and rightly so, he was named the man of the match for his all-round performance in the second Test match.

After India scripted a 2-0 Test series win over Bangladesh, Ravichandran Ashwin, while speaking to Cricbuzz, said he doesn’t like to go down without a fight in the first place.

He further added that he always puts himself in hard or complex situations from a young age. As a result, he gives absolutely everything to try and fight each day and which is precisely the reason why he doesn’t like to surrender at the hands of the opposition.

Ravi Ashwin has bagged as many as 449 wickets to his name in the longest format of the game.
