“This is what happens when surya plays on pitch that has help for bowlers” – Twitter reacts after Suryakumar Yadav gets dismissed for 7 off 9 against LSG

Mumbai Indians’ star batsman Suryakumar Yadav failed to bring the best out of himself in the run-chase against Lucknow Super Giants at Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow.

The flamboyant batsman who used to display a barrage of shots across the park was nowhere to be seen on a wicket that proved to be much favourable for the bowlers.

The right-handed batter took some time to get settled at the crease and before he could access the conditions, he ended up throwing his wicket away. Yash Thakur made a complete mess of the batsman’s stumps.

The 31-year-old misjudged the line and then paid the price. He scored seven runs off nine balls at a strike rate of 77.78 and had a bad day at the office against Lucknow Super Giants.

Suryakumar Yadav tried to play a fancy shot off Yash Thakur. As it turned out, the bowler quickly sensed that the batsman was moving towards the left side to play a fancy shot. As a result, he decided to target the stumps and reaped rewards.

Earlier, Lucknow Super Giants batted first and posted a competitive total of 177/3 in their allotted quota of 20 overs. Marcus Stoinis top-scored with 89 off 47 balls including 4 fours and 8 sixes to his credit.
