Sri Lanka’s tour of India kick-started with the T20I series and the shortest format did live up to the expectations. Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer were not included in the T20I squad.

Hardik Pandya who led the team from the front in Rohit Sharma’s absence steered the team to a 2-1 series win over the Sri Lankan cricket team. Meanwhile, the action has shifted to the ODI series between India and Sri Lanka.

Team India are locking horns with the Sri Lankan cricket team in the first of the three-match ODI series. The game is currently taking place at Barsapara Cricket Stadium, Guwahati.

Virat Kohli scores his 45th ODI century in the first ODI against Sri Lanka

Former Indian skipper Virat Kohli made a bold statement with the bat in the previous ODI against the Bangladesh cricket team in Chattogram. He brought up his 44th ODI century and drew praises for his tremendous batting.

The Indian stalwart who is currently involved in the first ODI against Sri Lanka let his bat do the talking as he went on to score his 65th half-century in this format. Moreover, he grew from strength to strength by ticking the flow of runs bit by bit.

The right-handed batsman went on to slam his 45th ODI century off just 80 balls where he composed his innings with the help of 10 boundaries and a six to his lofty standards of punching and counter-punching techniques.

Notably, it is also the consecutive ODI century for Kohli. Overall, it is his 74th century in international cricket.
