Sister Malti reacts to match-winning performance from Deepak Chahar vs. Sri Lanka

The young India side has got off to a good start under Rahul Dravid’s coaching guidance. Led by Shikhar Dhawan, India has won 2 ODI games out of the three-match series against Sri Lanka. The side has shown the perfect balance with firepower from all the departments.

However, the most surprising performance from an individual came from yesterday’s match. The 2nd ODI featured the mind-boggling all-round performance of Deepak Chahar. The player who is considered a swing bowler went on to win India’s game with the bat.

After winning the toss, Sri Lanka decided to bat first. Yuzvendra Chahal emerged out as the top bowler from Men in Blue. The leg spinner picked up three wickets in his spell of 10 overs. Deepak Chahar also played the helping hand as he bagged two wickets.

Marching towards the target of 276, the Indian top-order didn’t fire accordingly. It was then Suryakumar Yadav who handled the situation in the middle with his crucial half-century. Still, the target seemed tough enough as India didn’t have many wickets in hand.

Then came the unexpected knock of Deepak Chahar. He came out blazing all guns and smashed 69 runs along with being not out and won the game for India. His innings comprised of 7 fours and one six.

Malti Chahar, the sister of Deepak Chahar, couldn’t keep calm after the game. She took to her Instagram account and posted her feelings. She published one story and two videos that had Deepak in them.

The story that she posted had Deepak in the middle with all the avengers bowing him at the back. You can watch that story here:

It was Rahul Dravid’s idea to send Deepak Chahar up the order.

During the post-match interview, Bhuvneshwar Kumar revealed that Dravid’s idea was to send Deepak up the order as he can bat. The next and last ODI will be played on 23rd July in Colombo.
