4 Gun Fielders Which The World Cricket Has At The Moment

Fielding is the most essential part of the game of cricket which decides the winning or losing of a side in a particular match. World cricket has witnessed electrifying fielders from each corner of the world like Jonty Rhodes from South Africa, Mohammad Kaif from India, Michael Clarke from Australia, and Kevin Peterson from England. It is a different level of art that isn’t found in all Cricketers who are actually masters with the ball or bat. Till the last decade, the Indian cricket team was considered one of the worst fielding sides in the world but after the takeover of MS Dhoni, the level of fielding has improved in the Indian team.

Afterward, Virat Kohli is the only guy in the world who actually brings in the parameter of fielding and fitness into the process of selection for the first playing 11 of the team. Below are four gun fielders that world cricket has at the moment.

1. Ravindra Jadeja (Ind).

Sir Ravindra Jadeja is the weird gift to the World of cricket who actually gets to play with the skill of gun fielding instead of prime batting or bowling. Jadeja has a mastery especially in making impossible-looking run-outs, he is so fast in the middle that no batsman can save himself from his sharp throws. He has taken 90-plus catches in his limited-overs career along with the figure of 39 takes in 59 test matches. This makes him one of the great fielders of modern-day cricket.

2. Glenn Maxwell (Aus).

The Australian Cricket team has always been notable for their nimble and quick hands on the field. The legacy of Australian fielders has been great and enormous in world cricket the list has got started from the fine hands of Michael Clarke and ends up with Glenn Maxwell. If somebody follows  Maxwell from the beginning days of his career then he/she can’t forget his incredible single-handed takes in the position of the point and extra cover in the circle. He actually seems second on the list after Sir Ravindra Jadeja.

3. Virat Kohli (Ind).

The ‘King Kohli’ has one of the safest hands in Indian Cricket at this point in time. In Test cricket, he is a regular sleep fielder and there he takes some of the all-time great catches which an ideal slip taker must watch to learn the art. Kohli’s secret behind the gun fielding is his standing position and the unwavering attention which he keeps on the ball, where almost everybody lags to cope up. In the upcoming few years, it won’t be a shock if Kohli will be inducted into the list of one of the great fielders of all time in cricket.

4. Ben Stokes (Eng).

The lone English all-rounder in the list of best catchers has dampened his name with the sharp and flamboyant catches that he used to take especially in test games for England. This may be the only reason why the cricket fraternity has used to call Ben stokes, the Superman of this game. He is so athletic in nature and much more eye-catching as compared to the two Indians Ravindra Jadeja and Virat Kohli.
