Glenn Maxwell seems to have run into a controversy after one of his actions on Twitter. He has drawn the ire of Virat Kohli’s fans for the same. After Mitchell Starc‘s superb contribution with the bat, Glenn Maxwell likes a controversial Tweet about Virat Kohli‘s Test form.
Glenn Maxwell likes a controversial tweet about Virat Kohli
Earlier today, Mitchell Starc displayed good batting prowess in the ongoing Ashes Test in Sydney. He scored 34 runs in 60 deliveries to help Australia post a strong total. Starc has been doing well with the bat for a few years now.
Virat Kohli, though, has been struggling to do well, especially in Tests. Since 2019, he has not scored a century in any format of the game. A statistic showed that Starc has actually enjoyed a better batting average in Tests than Virat since 2019. Glenn Maxwell has liked this Tweet.
While it is okay for Maxi to encourage his Aussie teammate, the tweet was demeaning Virat Kohli in a slight way. Since Maxwell and Virat are teammates in IPL and are also good buddies off the field, many felt that the Aussie all-rounder could have avoided the move.

Maxwell and Virat will play for RCB in IPL 2022
Glenn Maxwell was one of the best performers for Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL 2021. His performance was one of the main reasons why the franchise reached the Top 4. Hence, ahead of the IPL 2022 Mega Auctions, the franchise has retained the Aussie. Especially with AB de Villiers announcing his retirement, it was certain that RCB would retain Maxi, who could also captain the squad if there are no other options. Maxwell is currently leading his team in the ongoing Big Bash League. Virat missed the second Test against South Africa due to back spasms. He is likely to return for the next game in Cape Town.
