One massive change CSK needs to make

It’s after quite a while that CSK finds itself in huge trouble in the starting stages of the IPL.

The last time CSK lost three games in a row was back in 2014, however they had still managed to qualify for the playoffs during that season, but this time around, the way they have structured their squad and the kind of form the players are in, it seems as if they might miss out on the playoffs for the first time in the history of the IPL.

However, there is still a little bit of hope for CSK and they would like to make a few changes going ahead in the tournament. The most important change that they need to make is right at the top of the order. Never for once in this tournament has CSK managed to get off to a flier of a start and the reason for that is that Shane Watson is repeatedly getting out cheaply.

CSK can drop Watson and play Tahir

Another thing that CSK is missing in their line-up is an attacking spinner. So, they can probably consider dropping Watson, despite the fact that he can be a match-winner on his day, and playing Imran Tahir instead. The void that will be left by Watson at the top can be filled by Sam Curran who has been hitting the ball absolutely magnificently right through this IPL.

Curran has batted in 3 out of the 4 games so far in IPL 2020 and all three times, he has walked into a situation where he has to go for his shots right from ball one and despite being entrusted with such a demanding job, he has managed to crunch the ball off the middle of the bat most of the time.

If Curran is slotted right at the top of the order, he can be the one who can provide CSK the brisk start that they so desperately need in the coming games.
