Shaheen Afridi takes a four-wicket haul to help Pakistan advance into the semi-finals

Just when it seemed, they are knocked out of the T20 World Cup 2022, Pakistan found a way to make it into the semi-finals. The Babar Azam-led side got the lucky entry into the knockout stage as the Netherlands pulled one of the biggest upsets of the tournament to eliminate South Africa.

South Africa’s loss opened the doors for Pakistan and all they needed was a win against Bangladesh. And they produced a magnificent performance to advance into the semi-finals. One of the main architects behind their win was pacer Shaheen Afridi.

The left- arm after a while looked settled and delivered a sensational bowling performance to put his team on top and eventually win the game for the side. Afridi picked a four-wicket haul and helped his side restrict the opposition to a total of just 127.

He removed the likes of Litton Das, Mosaddek Hossain, Nurul Hasan and Taskin Ahmed and returned with the figures of 4/22. Shaheen’s impressive show with the ball earned him Player of the Match as well. He’s likely to play a big role for his side in the upcoming stages of the tournament.

“No, we are looking forward to the final actually,” Shaheen Afridi’s epic reply to Danny Morrison

After Shaheen Afridi won the Player of the Match award, he was asked “Looking forward to the semis now?” by commentator Danny Morrison. The pacer gave an epic reply to this, saying that they are actually looking at the final now.

“No, we are looking forward to the final actually,” he said.

Pakistan will lock horns against New Zealand in semi-final 1 of the T20 World Cup 2022 in Sydney on 9th November.
