MS Dhoni defies age with a stunning juggling catch against KKR

There have been a lot of talks about the form and fitness of MS Dhoni in the ongoing IPL, but in the last night’s game against Kolkata Knight Riders, the former Indian captain proved once again that age is just a number for him.

In the last over of KKR’s innings, Dhoni took a flying catch off the bowling of Dwayne Bravo and that too with one glove off as he was trying to prevent any byes which the batsmen might attempt after missing the ball.

MS Dhoni dived twice to complete the catch

It was a thick edge and the ball was travelling. Dhoni got one hand to it diving towards his right, but because of the speed at which the ball was travelling, it came out of his hand, however the veteran wicket-keeper still kept his eyes on the ball and dived for the second time to grab the ball eventually.

While the CSK fans were over the moon with that catch for obvious reasons, even the CSK players out there on the ground couldn’t believe the effort of their captain who was trying to catch the ball without the glove on his right hand.

It was a decent day overall for Dhoni behind the stumps and as a captain too, but CSK still wasn’t able to win the game because of their clumsy batting in the latter stages of the chase. Kedar Jadhav, in particular, didn’t help their cause as he scored 7 off 12 balls when the required run rate was 13 runs per over.

CSK has now lost 4 games in the ongoing IPL 2020 and their chances of qualify to the playoffs are bleak. They can still get there mathematically, but the way they have performed with the bat so far, it seems really tough for them to finish in top 4 realistically.

CSK has to play their next game against RCB which is one of the in-form teams in the tournament.

I write a bit on cricket and I am more interested in technical and tactical side of the game, rather than bravado.
