The Zimbabwe left hander Ryan Burl, who is one of the most exciting players that Zimbabwe has got in their white ball set-up at the moment, is very confident about home team’s chances in the 3-match ODI series against India, which is starting tomorrow in Harare.
According to Ryan Burl, Zimbabwe has got the advantage of the conditions because they are playing at home and they are going to take a lot of confidence from the fact that they have beaten Bangladesh very, very convincingly only recently.
Bangladesh might not be one of the top ODI teams in the world, but they had gone to Zimbabwe after two back to back away series wins in South Africa and West Indies and Zimbabwe still managed to beat them without breaking too much of a sweat.
Ryan Burl insisted that it would be a very negative mindset to be in, for the Zimbabwean players, if they turn up against India thinking that they can’t beat this Indian team. They have to think they are at home and they can win and Zimbabwe has now got some very experienced players, apart from the young ones.

There are some legends in the current Zimbabwe team: Ryan Burl
Burl, who was speaking in an interview with Times of India, said that whenever people talk about Zimbabwe cricket, they talk about the golden days of the past where the two Flower brothers and the likes of Heath Streak did some wonderful things for the team, but there are some high quality players in the current Zimbabwe line-up as well, including Sikandar Raza who is probably one of the most consistent ODI players in the world.
Ryan Burl also said that some “bigger and better” things might be on the way for Zimbabwean cricketers if they put on eye catching performances against India in the upcoming ODI series.
