Karan Viradiya, not many people know him right now, but they will soon know him when he plays for the USA Cricket team. Born in Surat, Gujarat, Karan Rajubhai Viradiya is in the line to make his international debut for the American cricket team.
Viradiya is currently 26 years old, and he could have a great career for the USA cricket team. In case you didn’t know, Karan Viradiya once earned a place in the Indian U-19 squad. However, Karan was found guilty of age fraud in the year 2013.
It was in 2013 July that the Gujarat batter received a place in the squad after he scored over 400 runs in the CK Nayudu Trophy. However, it was later discovered that his birth date on his passport and school leaving certificate did not match.
Karan had got a place in the India U-19 squad that would tour Sri Lanka for two four-day matches. After this incident, he moved to the United States of America.
Karan Viradiya got a place in the USA squad in January 2021
On January 23, 2021, ESPNCricinfo reported that USA had included Karan Viradiya for the first time in their extended squad for training. As per ESPNCricinfo, he played for Gujarat U-23s till 2017. Later, he moved to California.
Karan Viradiya achieved much success in the USA as a cricketer. He stood second on the list of the highest run-getters in the Southern California Cricket Association Division One competition in 2019.
Although that tournament did not happen in 2020, the selection committee were satisfied enough with his 2019 performances to give him a place in their extended squad. It seems Karan Viradiya’s career is possibly coming back on track. It will be exciting to see if he plays for the USA cricket team. Many star players have decided to switch to the USA, and even USA Cricket is working hard to progress.
