Jimmy Neesham had a hilarious reaction to the WTC trophy

New Zealand’s star all-rounder Jimmy Neesham is famous for his comical reactions to happenings in the cricket world. The Kiwi all-rounder has gained a lot of fans on Twitter because of his sarcastic replies.

Recently, Neesham posted a tweet, reacting to the mace awarded to the winners of the World Test Championship. Many fans would have seen that the New Zealand cricket team captain Kane Williamson received a mace instead of a trophy after the Blackcaps beat India in the inaugural WTC Final.

Jimmy Neesham was a little confused after this ceremony. He could not understand how one is supposed to drink wine in that mace. Here’s what Neesham tweeted:

“I only really have one problem with the World Test Championship, and that’s how the hell are you meant to drink out of a mace???”

It is a common thing in cricket that the champion teams drink wine from their championship trophies. However, this was not possible since it was a mace. Hence, Neesham seemingly made a valid point with his tweet on the micro-blogging platform.

Jimmy Neesham is also in the United Kingdom right now

The New Zealand cricket team became the first-ever World Test Championship winners at the Ageas Bowl in Southampton. Jimmy Neesham was not a part of that squad that lifted the mace in Southampton, but he was nearby only.

Jimmy Neesham is not a regular New Zealand Test squad member now, but he plays white-ball cricket for the Blackcaps. Currently, he is working on his skills in the T20 Blast 2021 competition. Neesham is a member of the Essex team in that tournament.

Recently, fans learned that the Kiwi cricketers had received permission from their board to play in the second phase of IPL 2021. Hence, Neesham will soon be heading to the United Arab Emirates, where he will play for the Mumbai Indians in the competition.
