“Indian team was uncomfortable”, Report claims the staggering reason behind the sacking of the BCCI selection committee

On Friday, it was made official that BCCI has sacked its current selection group. However, a report has shown the likely reason for the same, including one which made the players uncomfortable. Here, we take a look as a report claims the staggering reason behind the sacking of the BCCI selection committee.

The BCCI selection committee has been sacked

As per a report in the Times of India, “The Indian team was uncomfortable with some of the selectors getting too close to the team’s practice sessions.” It appeared that the selectors were getting involved too much and this could have led to their axing.

Team India must now bring in selectors with a better understanding of the current game. Other nations are acing despite the same challenge of three formats. However, India is lagging behind. Fans will hope for a better tenure by the new panel.

Team India needs to realign for the T20 format

If you take a look at most of the other nations, they have all aligned with the needs of the T20 format of the current era. Even India, in recent months, had shown glimpses of the same. However, the team approached the format in the old manner in the 2022 T20 World Cup. This eventually led to the loss in the semi-finals.

While the mindset, approach and tactics need a change, the management will also need a change of personnel to achieve that. With the new selection committee, that can be made possible. India’s primary target will be to improve the returns from the openers. Next up, the team will need versatile players in the XI to improve the batting and bowling depth. This will go a long way in helping the specialists do their job without any fear. The fans will hope that this is set into action soon.
