Sanju Samson could well be the surprise selection in the Indian squad for the T20 World Cup 2022. The keeper batter has been in and out of the team but considering the stroke play he has coupled with the pace and bounce on the Australian pitches, he’s the perfect fit for India to play in such conditions. Samson had decent outings for India in the last few games he featured and his attacking game could well be the X-factor that India needs. Also, reports have been hogging the headlines that the right-hander will be picked for the squad. So far he has played 16 T20Is, in which he has scored 296 runs at a strike rate of 135.16.

Umran Malik impressed many with his pace during the IPL 2022. His impressive performances earned him a place in the Indian side. He was decent with the ball but leaked some runs as well. After his poor outing against England he was dropped from the Indian side and since then hasn’t been in the Indian set-up. He can also be the surprise selection that India could make in their squad for the World Cup. His pace could be very handy for the Rohit Sharma-led side on pace and bouncy wickets of Australia. So far he has played only 3 matches for India and has taken 2 wickets.
Kuldeep Yadav
One of the biggest surprise selections for India in the T20 World Cup 2022 might be Kuldeep Yadav. The Chinaman bowler due to poor form and injuries found himself out of the Indian set-up of late. But he made a staggering comeback through the IPL 2022. The leg-spinner could prove to be handy for the side in the Australian conditions as he can exploit the bounce factor. His left-arm spin angle could trouble batters and with grounds being big down under, he can give his team crucial breakthroughs in the middle. In 25 T20I he has 44 wickets at a pretty decent economy of 6.89.
