Australia suffered a massive innings and 132 run loss on first Test against India.

Australia suffers a massive inning and 132-run loss in the first Test against India in Nagpur

The Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2023 kick-started on a thrashing note for Australia Cricket Team. The Pat Cummins-led side was at receiving end of an inning and 132 runs loss. They displayed a poor brand of cricket with both bat and ball, which is the main reason they conceded a 1-0 lead in the series.

It’s fair to say that Australia made blunders in selection as well which backfired and gave them a tough time on the field. Their batters struggled to get going and bowlers failed to live up to the expectations and mount the pressure.

But Australians are known for their comeback and one cannot write them off. Therefore it is expected that they would come out all guns blazing. However, they are expected to dig into the poor areas from the first game and rectify them in the second game.

The second game between the teams will be played from the 17th to the 21st of February in Delhi and it is expected that Australia would take some hard calls and make changes to their lineup. Also, it is expected that their injured players would be fit and will be back.

He said that the team should drop David Warner and play Travis Head in his place. Adding that Renshaw should open. He stated: “I would drop David Warner, make Matt Renshaw open and bring Travis Head”.

Notably, Warner of late has struggled to make an impact on the game. His place in the side also has been under scanner. It remains to be if the batter will retain his place in the second game or not.
