“I laughed so hard, for 2 seconds” – Virat Kohli reveals the reaction before and after his 71st century

Former Indian captain Virat Kohli is well and truly the best in the business when it comes to all forms of the game. Be it ODI, Test or T20I, the right-handed batsman knows how to dominate the proceedings.

He has this certain template which he follows and he often thrives in pressure situations. Moreover, his incredible consistency is what sets him apart from most other players of this era.

In the present era, he is the leading run-scorer in ODIs and T20Is. Overall, he has slammed as many as 75 international centuries, the second-most by a cricketer in history after Sachin Tendulkar (100 centuries).

Virat Kohli scored 8416 runs in the longest format of the game including 28 centuries and 28 fifties to his name. On the other hand, he scored 12,898 runs in ODIs including 46 centuries and 65 fifties.

As far as the T20I format is concerned, Virat Kohli scored 4008 runs at an average of 52.7 including one century and 37 half-centuries to his name, registering his best score of an unbeaten 122*.

Meanwhile, the former Indian skipper, in an interview to Hotstar opened up on his honest reaction before and after his 71st international century. In fact, it’s been close to three years when Kohli didn’t score a century.

However, he eventually ended the century drought by scoring his 71st international century. It was also his maiden century in T20I format which came against Afghanistan in the Asia Cup 2022 tournament.

Talking about his 71st century, he said, “ball before I got the hundred, is the time I felt, oh I am on 94, I could probably get this, next ball went for six, I laughed so hard, for 2 seconds, I let myself go through it, I was like, this is all that it.”
