“I don’t believe any other country will come to South Africa now”- Ali Bacher praises Team India

Team India is currently playing a 3-match ICC World Test Championship series against the South African cricket team. The two nations will soon compete in a 3-match ICC Cricket World Cup Super League series as well soon. Fans should note that all matches of the tour are taking place inside a bio-bubble. No fans are allowed to attend the matches live at the stadiums.

The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted South Africa a lot because of which there are many restrictions in the country. However, the BCCI and Team India have shown a very professional approach so far on this tour and ensured that the tour continues irrespective of what is happening outside the bio-bubble. The ICC World Test Championship series is in its final match now.

Fans expect the ICC Cricket World Cup Super League series between the two teams to happen smoothly as well. Amid all this, former South African cricket team captain Ali Bacher has appreciated the Indian cricket team for touring South Africa and playing top-quality cricket in these testing times.

“I don’t believe any other country will come to South Africa now [in the pandemic]. I don’t believe so. We have had experiences before. This is an indication of the great closeness between Indian and South African cricket, which started in 1991,” Bacher was quoted as saying by Mid-day. 

Team India can record a historic Test series win on South African soil soon

The Indian cricket team got off to a winning start on their South African tour as they made history by defeating South Africa at the SuperSport Park in Centurion. However, the home team bounced back in the second match at The Wanderers and ensured that the final match of the series was not a dead rubber.

The third match was held at Newlands in Cape Town. An excellent century from Rishabh Pant has helped the Indian cricket team set a 212-run target for the home side. South Africa ended Day 3 with 101/2 on the board. South Africa tasted a victory courtesy of a brilliant innings from Petersen resulting in a series victory.
