Harsha Bhogle took the names of Dinesh Karthik and Umesh Yadav when asked about the players who are looking settled in their new teams. Speaking on Cricbuzz, the popular commentator said, “I have two go with two names here, first is, of course, Dinesh Karthik goes back to RCB and he is finishing like he has not gone anywhere and the second is Umesh Yadav at KKR. I know he has been at KKR gone back, returned and that’s the nature in IPL cricket, but Umesh Yadav and Dinesh Karthik, I am very happy with those two choices.”
DK struggled in the final few years at KKR. However, with improvement in role clarity, he has been in top form this year. He made 90 runs so far of just 44 balls without losing his wicket. On the other hand, Umesh played only two games in the last two seasons. However, in four encounters so far, he has already picked up nine wickets.
The season has been about comebacks and raw talents
Apart from Dinesh Karthik and Umesh Yadav, the likes of Kuldeep Yadav and MS Dhoni have also found form in this campaign. IPL 2022 has also been kind to the youngsters. Players like Lalit Yadav, Ayush Badoni and Tilak Varma have all been brilliant so far. It is still early in the tournament. It needs to be seen how the season would progress in this regard.
