Sanjay Manjrekar has the impression that Ravindra Jadeja is well aware that there is going to be competition for the position that he now has in India’s team for the Twenty20 World Cup in 2022.
Jadeja has been selected as one of the four spinners to represent India in the Asia Cup 2022, which will begin on August 27 in the United Arab Emirates and include a total of 15 players. The left-arm spinner was selected for the team not just because of his bowling, but also because of his athletic fielding and his ability to add runs later in the order.

What did Sanjay Manjrekar say about Hardik Pandya?
Manjrekar was questioned about Jadeja’s position in India’s T20 World Cup team during a conversation that took place on the program “Sports Over the Top” that airs on Sports 18. His response was:
“Ravindra Jadeja is aware that he will soon face some formidable competition. Therefore, it is now up to Jadeja to persuade the selectors as to whether he will be an all-rounder who bats or bowls in the future.”
This is Axar Patel's 3rd 3 wicket haul in 24 T20Is.
He equals Ravindra Jadeja on this stat, who has three 3 wicket hauls in 60 T20Is!

Manjrekar is of the opinion that the all-rounder for the Chennai Super Kings has to demonstrate that he is a better bowler than Axar Patel in order for him to be considered for a bowling all-rounder position. The former Indian batter went into more detail, saying:
“His position on the squad will be determined according to the results of that. If he wants to compete as a bowling all-rounder, he will need to demonstrate to the management of the team that he is superior to Axar Patel in terms of the team’s second spinner option.”
In the Indian batting order, it seems doubtful that Ravindra Jadeja would be employed at a position higher than number six. It is likely that the management of the Indian team is looking at him with an eye on adding depth to the batting lineup at No. 7 and performing the fifth bowler’s duty together with Hardik.
