The ICC ODI World Cup 2023 is slated to be held later this year in the October-November window. It will be quite interesting to see which team will go on to win the title this time around.

For the record, it is also the first time that the ODI World Cup is going to be held in India. With the mega event scheduled to be held this year, it is quite obvious that there will be plenty of ODI action among the teams.

The likes of Australia, New Zealand, England and India have star-studded players in their arsenal who are capable of pulling off masterstrokes in clutch moments of the game.

Meanwhile, former Australian paceman Brett Lee, while speaking to Sports Yaari picked Team India as the favourite to win the upcoming edition of the ICC ODI World Cup 2023.

Team India won the ODI World Cup twice in their history. India won their first ODI World Cup under Kapil Dev’s captaincy as they got the better of the West Indies cricket team by 43 runs at Lord’s.

India made it to the finals of the 2011 edition of the World Cup. They locked horns with Sri Lanka in the final and clinched the title by beating Sri Lanka by six wickets.

During the 2019 World Cup, India were knocked out by the New Zealand cricket team in the semi-finals under Virat Kohli’s captaincy, in what was a heartbreak for the players and the fans.

Rohit Sharma is operating as the captain of the Indian cricket team. It will be his first ODI World Cup as captain. It will be quite interesting to see how the Indian players go about their business in the upcoming mega event. Australia are the most successful team in the history of the ODI World Cup as they have won a record five titles.
