Warner may not be featuring in this IPL again: Sunrisers Hyderabad secured a rare victory last night as they thrashed Rajasthan Royals comprehensively, courtesy of a blistering knock from Jason Roy and a decent partnership between Kane Williamson and Abhishek Sharma.
However, surprising everyone, the Orange Army was forced to drop their leading run-scorer of all time, David Warner after the Australian failed for the second time in two matches, leaving SRH rooted at the rock-bottom of the points table.
This is what others had to say about the exclusion of David Warner
Many experts voiced their opinions about this sad incident, but the management couldn’t help, as they needed at least something going their way.
Speaking to ANI, Trevor Bayliss dropped a hint that may prove to be explosive as Warner may not be seen playing again for Sunrisers in this season.
He mentioned that new players will be given an opportunity as the damage has already been done. Bayliss quoted in the press conference that with the dream of play-offs already going down the drain, he will be allowing the youngsters to experience the remaining games.
According to him, he said that Warner is not the only senior to be left for the next match. For the remaining games, new players who have not starred in the games until now will be starting their IPL campaign.
What does his exclusion signify in the near future?
Bayliss also said that despite the fact Warner wasn’t a part of the team, his unwavering support for the team will always continue. Also, this decision by Bayliss can be pivotal as the mega-auction looms around the corner.
Warner and company will be up against Chennai Super Kings in their next encounter on Thursday, where Kane Williamson will be raring to stage an upset.
