After Mumbai was thrashed last night by a resurgent KKR, thanks to a dominant display from Venkatesh Iyer and Rahul Tripathi, a lot of Mumbai fans have started questioning the presence of Krunal Pandya in the side.
The elder Pandya sibling has failed to impress in recent times and with every passing match has been becoming a lot blunter than one would like to see him.
Krunal Pandya is still unable to find his footing
In the opening match of the second phase of the tournament, he dished out an extremely woeful showdown after he could only score 4 runs with the bat and was thrashed for 27 runs from 2 overs.
Things didn’t get any better for Krunal in the following game against KKR as all he could manage was a paltry 12 runs from 9 balls and conceded 25 runs from 3 overs without any success.
Mumbai Indians have slipped to the sixth position of the points’ table after KKR belted out a couple of rollicking performances that had domination written all over it.
Despite a struggling start in the first phase of the fray, Mumbai managed a couple of decent victories to venture into the top four. However, the resumption of IPL hasn’t been kind to them at all, and the man who has suffered the most is Krunal Pandya.
His body language is also not up to snuff, and he has struggled badly to rack up significant figures to make a case for him. He couldn’t really fire home even against an emaciated Sri Lankan cricket team and his struggles are now getting a lot more stretched than he would like them to.
