“He could be the biggest threat once again for us”, Marcus Stoinis calls Virat Kohli the danger against Australia in the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy

According to Australian all-rounder Marcus Stoinis, former India captain Virat Kohli might pose the greatest danger to Australia in the forthcoming Border-Gavaskar series next month. On February 9, India will host Australia for the opening Test of the four-match series.

Stoinis told ANI that Australia is not going to give up this year and that they do not want to lose the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. The 33-year-old conceded that it is challenging to play India on their home turf due to spin-friendly conditions, but he argued that Australia also has a good team.

He continued by saying that Australia should be mindful of India’s elite bowlers like Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja, but that Australia is also bringing in some specialized spinners.

“India has bowlers like Ashwin and Jadeja who are good at what they do. They can bowl well, but we have some spinners who are experts, so you can expect a good match this time,” said Stoinis.

Stoinis wished a speedy recovery for Rishabh Pant and praised Kohli as a “world-class batter,” adding that he “may prove to be the greatest danger for Australia once again.”

“Kohli is a world-class batsman and has returned to form and he is one of the best Test batters, so he could be the biggest threat once again for us. But one player who will be missed this season badly is Rishabh Pant. He is unfortunately not with the team. I wish he recovers soon and comes back to the field,” Stoinis said.
