“Now Laxman as a T20 coach?”, Twitter reacts to the report that BCCI will have a meeting with Dravid & Laxman for the roadmap of the Indian team

Following India’s two losses in Mirpur, which ultimately led to the loss of the ODI series, the Indian Cricket Board (BCCI) is reportedly planning to host a review meeting when the Bangladesh trip concludes.

After India was eliminated in the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup 2022, the BCCI was supposed to have a review meeting, but the publication Indian Express stated that the gathering was cancelled because several of the organization’s executives were elsewhere occupied. However, the BCCI’s concerns over hosting the 2023 ODI World Cup have been heightened by India’s recent series defeat to Bangladesh.

BCCI executives, India’s head coach Rahul Dravid, NCA chief VVS Laxman, captain Rohit Sharma, and ex-captain Virat Kohli will meet.

The summit is anticipated to provide light on India’s future plans. Many outlets have reported that Hardik Pandya should be named India’s T20 captain, and a few retired cricketers have echoed these calls. After India was eliminated from the T20 World Cup and lost the ODI series against Bangladesh, Rohit’s leadership came under heavy scrutiny.

India’s T20 World Cup semi-final loss to England was by ten wickets, and the team never looked strong. Following the ODIs, India will play two Tests in Bangladesh, the second of which will conclude on December 26.

India won the third and final one-day international against Bangladesh with a score of 227 runs on Saturday at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram, but ultimately lost the series 1-2. Bangladesh was bowled out for 182 runs, which was short of their goal of 410 in 34 overs.

Shardul Thakur had three wickets for India, while Axar Patel and Umran Malik each had two. Indian batsmen Ishan Kishan and Virat Kohli had earlier decimated the Bangladesh bowling attack to assist their team reach a mammoth 409-8 off of 50 overs. While Virat Kohli got 113 runs off 91 deliveries, Ishan Kishan smashed 210 off 131. They put on 290 runs for the second wicket as a pair.
