One fast bowler and twelve support staff members of Chiennai Super Kings test positive

In an absolutely shocking development, with less than three weeks for Indian Premier League to kick-off, one Chennai Super Kings player and 12 support staff members have tested positive for the coronavirus. As per a report in Times of India, a close source of the franchise has revealed this piece of information.

The source quoted, “Even when football started in Europe, a few players had tested positive. So with eight IPL teams, and over 1000 members, this was a possibility. This could have happened to any team. It is just unlucky that it happened to CSK despite taking all kinds of precautions.”

Going by the reports, the player who tested positive is a fast bowler but his name is still to be known. It is also informed that the ones who have tested positive for the virus are kept isolated and have pretty stable health conditions.

With the mandates that have been imposed in placed by the health officials of the Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI), CSK has religiously conformed to the norms in place. Despite this being massive news, the official confirmation from BCCI or CSK is still to arrive.

Meanwhile Royal Challengers Bangalore and Rajasthan Royals have completed their seven-day quarantine without much ado and have already taken the field or their practice sessions.

The domestic cricketing extravaganza is all set to kick off on September 19th and will continue until 10th November. The official fixtures are still to be confirmed by BCCI and it is expected that they will be arriving by the end of this week. All the eight franchises have already reached UAE and have quarantined them after the tests
