Over the year India have produced a number of batters, who have been major contenders to break the record for the fastest 50. After the boom of T20 cricket, India have had plenty of batters, who are ready to take the attacking route right from the word go.

The likes of MS Dhoni, Virender Sehwag, Yuvraj Singh and many others knew how to put the opposition bowlers under pressure. Bowlers used to be on their toes while bowling to them.

In the article, let’s take a look at three Team India players with the Fastest 50 in all formats

1. Rishabh Pant- Tests

Rishabh Pant, on Sunday, became the Team India batter with the fastest 50 in Test cricket. The left-hander accomplished the milestone against Sri Lanka in the Day-Night Test at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore. He played his shots freely right from the word go and put pressure on the opposition bowling.

Pant achieved the feat in 28 balls and broke Kapil Dev’s 40-year-old record. Back in 1982, Dev scored a 30-ball fifty against Pakistan in Karachi. Pant, in the end, got out to Praveen Jayawickrama.

The right-hander got to his half-century off a mere 21 balls. He went on to stay unbeaten on 67 off 25 with seven fours and four sixes.

On the back of his knock, India crossed the 300-run mark and won the match by 39 runs. Earlier, Kapil Dev, Virender Sehwag, Rahul Dravid and Yuvraj Singh scored half-centuries off 22 balls.
