Every team would want the core of the franchise to be Indian. Of course, one or two foreigners could also be included here. However, for certain teams, if you remove the foreign players, the team would weaken a lot. It could be an intention by the franchise to build the teams this way. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of three teams with the best overseas core for IPL 2024.
1) Sunrisers Hyderabad
SRH has always had a good set of overseas players. However, when you compare the last few seasons, IPL 2024 might be their best in this regard.
In IPL 2024 Auctions, they hired Pat Cummins, Travis Head and Wanindu Hasaranga. All of them would easily walk into the playing XI. Before this, they had Aiden Markram, Glenn Phillips, the mighty Heinrich Klaasen and Marco Jansen. Hence, their overseas setup looks scary.
2) Punjab Kings
PBKS also has a good set of overseas players. In the batting department, they have Jonny Bairstow, Liam Livingstone and Rilee Rossouw, all of whom could take the game away from the opposition in a short time.
Sam Curran and Sikandar Raza are brilliant options in the all-rounder’s department. They have Kagiso Rabada and Nathan Ellis as the foreign pacers. This duo also add a lot of depth and variety to the squad.
3) Rajasthan Royals
RR is one of the teams with the best overseas core for IPL 2024. If you take a look at RR in recent times, Jos Buttler and Shimron Hetmyer are irreplaceable in the batting unit. Trent Boult is the leader of the pace attack and he is undroppable, as well.
Rovman Powell, the new joinee, would walk straight into the XI. Now, RR has a fantastic group of finishers and that is a warning for the other teams. Adam Zampa and Nandre Burger are brilliant backups to have in the bowling department for RR.
