“Calm before storm” – Twitter reacts after Rohit Sharma ends a year without scoring a century since 2013

India’s regular skipper Rohit Sharma was expected to be back in cricketing action for the second and final Test match against the Bangladesh cricket team in Dhaka on December 22 (Thursday).

Needless to say, the recovery process didn’t happen quickly and as a result, the team management decided not to play him for the second Test. The BCCI also confirmed that Rohit Sharma has been ruled out of the Dhaka Test.

2022 has been a tough year for Rohit Sharma as a captain and batsman. Under his captaincy, Team India made it to the semis of the marquee event in Australia but surrendered at the hands of England in the peak clash.

Rohit Sharma ends a year without scoring a hundred since 2013

Meanwhile, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma ended the calendar year without scoring even a single century in international cricket since 2013 and it has been quite a tough year for the Indian stalwart.

The senior cricketer is expected to make a comeback to the national cricket team for India’s tour of Sri Lanka which comprises three T20Is followed by three ODIs.

After the conclusion of the tour, India will host New Zealand for the three-match ODI series followed by three T20Is. After that, India will host Australia for four Tests and three ODIs.

It’s really going to be interesting to see how Rohit Sharma would respond the next year after a major setback this year. There are plenty of matches lined up for Team India and Rohit would be looking forward to making a stellar comeback.

Rohit Sharma is the only batsman in the history of the sport who has scored three double centuries in One-Day Internationals. Notably, he is also the only batter to have scored four centuries in Twenty20 Internationals.

With ICC ODI World Cup scheduled to be held in India next year, fans would hope Rohit Sharma to focus on the 50-over format. He has scored 9454 runs in 235 ODIs at an average of 48.7 including 29 centuries and 46 fifties.
