The Indian Premier League has always given the youngsters an opportunity to come and showcase their talent to the world. Many young players have announced their arrivals in the cricket world via the grand platform provided by the IPL. The trend has continued this year as well, and Michael Vaughan picked the best young player he has ever seen from the current lot.
Earlier today, the cricket universe witnessed a match between the Lucknow Super Giants and the Mumbai Indians at the Brabourne Stadium. A magnificent century from captain KL Rahul helped the Lucknow-based franchise record their fourth win of the season.
While LSG dominated MI in the first innings, it looked like MI could chase the target of 200 runs, when Dewald Brevis was batting. Nicknamed as Baby AB, Brevis scored a quickfire 31 against the Super Giants. His brief knock comprised six fours and a six.
In the last match of the Mumbai Indians team, Brevis smacked four back-to-back sixes against Rahul Chahar. Former England cricket team captain Michael Vaughan was impressed with the way Brevis batted as he wrote on Twitter:
“Dewald Brevis !! Best young player I have seen …”

Like Michael Vaughan, Ben Stokes became a fan of Dewald Brevis in IPL 2022
Michael Vaughan was not the only one who was impressed with the performances of Brevis. Ben Stokes, who decided to skip IPL 2022, to focus on his Test career, also praised Brevis for his performance. Here’s what he tweeted:

Even Suryakumar Yadav has loved Brevis’ performances as he said the following words for him and youngster Tilak Verma during a press conference before the battle against Lucknow:
“I feel happy for them, Dewald, Tilak. The way they have taken responsibility since the first game, they have been really good. I am sure they’re going to make it really big.”
