“Turned The Clock Back To KKR Days”- Twitter Reacts To Robin Uthappa’s Quickfire 50 Against LSG

The seventh match of IPL 2022 is currently underway at Mumbai’s Brabourne Stadium, where the Chennai Super Kings are taking on the Lucknow Super Giants. LSG skipper KL Rahul won the toss and invited the opponent team to bat first. CSK got off to a great start courtesy of Robin Uthappa’s 27-ball 50.

Uthappa destroyed the LSG bowlers in the powerplay and amassed 45 runs in the first six overs. He scored 10 runs off Avesh Khan’s bowling in the first over and then attacked Dushmantha Chameera and Andrew Tye.

Uthappa’s opening partner Ruturaj Gaikwad did not have a memorable outing at the Brabourne Stadium. The IPL 2021 Orange Cap winner got run out while he was batting on 1 run. The Lucknow Super Giants appealed for an LBW off Tye’s bowling. While Gaikwad not given out LBW, a direct hit from Ravi Bishnoi caught him short of his crease.

Gaikwad’s departure did not impact Robin Uthappa. He continued to play his natural game and built a decent partnership for the second wicket with Moeen Ali. Both batters played with intent and took the Chennai Super Kings’ score to 73/1 at the end of the powerplay overs.

Both batters have lost their wickets now. Uthappa’s knock came to an end on the 27th delivery of his innings as Ravi Bishnoi trapped him in front of his stumps. Soon after, Ali lost his stumps to Avesh Khan after scoring 35 runs off 22 deliveries.
