Big Bash League is the second-most-watched T20 competition in the world after the Indian Premier League. Australia’s premier T20 competition has successfully completed eleven editions since its inception.

The fans are following the twelfth edition of the KFC Big Bash League. The league has witnessed only two batters scoring more than 3000 runs in the BBL since the inaugural edition.

It is not that easy to accumulate more runs in the truncated version of the game because chances are high that the batters might get dismissed inside the powerplay overs by trying to go for maximums.

However, the only deserving players have defied the odds and thrived in the BBL. In this article, we will take a look at the two players who have scored more than 3000 runs in the Big Bash League.

1. Chris Lynn

Chris Lynn is the leading run-scorer in the history of the Big Bash League. The Australian who is involved in multiple T20 leagues across the world has been a part of the BBL from 2011 to 2023.

The Adelaide Strikers’ batsman has played 113 matches in the competition wherein he has scored 3421 runs at an average of 35.26. Notably, he has maintained an exceptional strike rate of 147.83 including one century and 27 fifties to his name. He registered his best score of 101 in the KFC Big Bash League.

2. Aaron Finch

Aaron Finch is one of the most dangerous openers in the present era and is best known for his on-field batting exploits. Under his captaincy, Australia won the T20 World Cup for the first time in history. The right-handed batsman who enjoys playing the BBL has played 98 games from 2011 to 2023.

The Melbourne Renegades player has aggregated 3074 runs so far in his career, accumulating two centuries and 24 fifties to his name in the league. He has maintained a batting average of 34.15. Besides that, he has a terrific strike rate of 131.87.
