Rohit Sharma who was ruled out of the third ODI against Bangladesh due to a dislocated thumb has been ruled out of the first Test match against Bangladesh in Chattogram.

The BCCI named KL Rahul as the acting captain in Rohit’s absence. India’s stand-in captain KL Rahul won the toss and chose to bat first. During the game, Rishabh Pant created a new landmark in the purest format of the game.

The young southpaw has successfully completed 50 sixes from just 54 innings in Test cricket, which is quite an achievement. Pant is only getting started and is destined for greatness in the longest format of the game.

Pant already has made a name for himself as one of the aggressive batsmen as far as the Test format is concerned. He has scored 2169 runs in 32 Tests at an average of 43.38.

The southpaw has slammed as many as five centuries and ten fifties to his name. During the first Test against Bangladesh, Pant approached the game quite aggressively, smashing six fours and two sixes.

While he was en route to scoring a fifty, Mehidy Hasan got rid of him in the fourth ball of the 32nd over. Pant tried to play a defensive shot but the ball ended up hitting his bat before going to crash his stumps.
